Course Information

Atrophic scars are the most common sequela of acne, the most frequent skin disorder.

The clinical identification of different types of scars and their histopathological correlation allow for a better therapeutic approach.

The treatment of atrophic acne scars involves numerous techniques, specific to each type of scar, including procedures such as chemical peels, fillers, lasers, and surgery. All these techniques are accessible to dermatology professionals.

The objective of this 100% online course is to provide physicians with tools to identify the type of atrophic scars they are assessing, to consider which therapeutic technique is most appropriate in each case, and to enhance their skills to perform these procedures in their outpatient practice.

A systematic review of the literature on the mentioned techniques will be conducted, and professionally edited hands-on videos of real patients will be provided so that students can see in detail how to carry out the therapeutic procedures.

The course requires knowledge of skin anatomy and histology, as well as basic training in surgery. Therefore, the target professional profile is the dermatologist interested in comprehensive acne management, from diagnosis to its sequelae. The course is developed in collaboration with and accredited by the University of Andorra and the AEDV (Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venereology)
